Why Study Environmental Studies at Iona?

Our minor is a unique blend of biology, political science and religious studies designed to provide a deep understanding of the "Living Earth."

You will learn from and work alongside passionate faculty members as you investigate the science, politics and religious beliefs that influence the treatment of our planet and our attempts to develop a path to a sustainable future.

What You Will Learn

You will be learn to to evaluate the many political, economic and ethical issues that contribute to our environmental problems. Through critical examination and research, you will lead new ideas and responses to resolving the problems.

In engaging courses, you’ll focus on different areas of the environmental studies landscape: ecological and environmental literacy, politics and policy, and religious study.
