What You'll Learn
You will come to understand particular historical developments and their impact on societies and the world. You will learn to use storytelling and analysis to communicate historical events.
You will master the ability to question confidently, research diligently, examine thoroughly, and communicate clearly – skills that employers are looking for.
You will dive into the arena of digital humanities with the program's partnership with the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies. Our curriculum, with a focus on techniques, theories, and methodologies, will provide the skills needed to share public history in the digital age.
You will be well-prepared to make history.

Institute for Thomas Paine Studies
Iona is home to the Thomas Paine National Historical Association Collection, comprising the rare original works and writings of one of America’s founding Fathers. Our Institute for Thomas Paine Studies promotes scholarship and learning in traditional and new media formats through our fellowship program, events and exhibits, and digital humanities projects! You will have the opportunity to complete an internship in public history through the Institute, working with the historical artifacts and document collections it has conserved!
