Iona's beautiful 35-acre campus is located approximately 20 miles north of Manhattan in suburban Westchester County, New York. This ideal proximity to New York City provides Iona students endless career and social opportunities.

In addition to the main campus in New Rochelle, the College features a campus in Rockland County, the Rockland Graduate Center, which opened in August 2003. Strategically positioned between the Tappan Zee and George Washington bridges, the Rockland Graduate Center boasts classrooms equipped with projection systems, two computer labs, a library, a lounge, conference rooms and administrative offices.

Academic Programs
Iona offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the School of Arts and Science and the Hagan School of Business, including undergraduate degree programs for students enrolled in the evening Professional Studies Program.

Residence Halls
Over 1,000 Iona students choose to live in one of the College’s five housing options. The primary goal of Iona’s Residential Life program is to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment where academic success, as well as the social, emotional, spiritual, physical and cultural development of each resident, is facilitated.

Accreditation
Iona College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredited Iona’s Education Department in October for its undergraduate and graduate degree programs, making the College one of only five institutions in the New York metropolitan area to boast NCATE accreditation.

The Department of Mass Communication features accreditation by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) and is one of five accredited programs from New York City to Boston.

Iona’s Hagan School of Business is among the top 30 percent of business schools worldwide and is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

The undergraduate program in Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The undergraduate program in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).

The Department of Pastoral Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy is in candidacy for accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), the accrediting body of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Student Life
Iona students are encouraged to participate in more than 60 active, student-run clubs and organizations, including media groups, fraternities and sororities, academic clubs and cultural organizations. The Office of Student Development hosts hundreds of on and off-campus events throughout the year.

Technology
Iona became the first Metro-New York college with a completely wireless Internet campus in September 2001. In March 2007, 52 dual-boot Apple Macs were installed in Ryan Library. Only a handful of colleges nationwide a have deployed this type of Mac, which can run both Apple and Windows operating systems.

Capital Campaign
Iona ’s capital campaign, Vision into Reality,closed in December 2004, having raised over $82.6 million in funds for new scholarships and buildings. Projects made possible by the Campaign include the Iona College Arts Center (opened in September 2000), renovations of the science building and the Mulcahy Campus Events Center, a new main entrance, an endowment for more than 23 scholarship funds, the Robert V. LaPenta '67, '00H Student Union (opened August 2005) and the Hynes Athletics Center (opened January 2006).

The College recently embarked on a $10 million mini-campaign, Visions of Excellence (VOE), to expand and renovate Ryan Library, in addition to constructing a new façade for the building. By fall 2007, VOE had raised sufficient funds to begin construction on Phase I of the Library Project.

Athletics
Iona proudly sponsors 22 NCAA Division I teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). A total of 124 Iona student-athletes were named to the 2006-2007 MAAC Academic Honor Roll.

The Iona College men’s cross country program continued its “Tradition of Excellence” with its 16th consecutive MAAC Championship, its fifth Northeast Regional title and a program record third place finish at the NCAA Championship. The women’s cross country team collected its third MAAC Championship and finished 20th at NCAAs after earning its first-ever automatic bid with a second-place finish at the Northeast Regional Championship. Iona’s women’s basketball team collected a program record 21 wins in 2006-07 and the first postseason bid in school history. The Gaels advanced to the Second Round of the Women’s NIT.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Center for Campus Ministries offers hundreds of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. The Iona in Mission program provides students the unique experience to spend anywhere from a weekend to a semester volunteering in another culture either in the U.S. or abroad.

Study Abroad
Iona students can choose to study abroad in Australia, France, Ireland, Italy and Spain. Juniors in the Honors Program and other qualified Iona students can apply for the Br. Patrick Doyle Oxford Fellowship, a one year study abroad opportunity at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford University, England.

Tradition of Success
Iona alumni include leading executives at top Fortune 500 companies, surgeons, film directors, published writers, major league baseball players, Broadway musicians, and thousands of successful professionals. In fact, the current president and co-chief operating officer of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the current president and chief executive officer of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ) are both Iona College alums.
