Early Acceptance Dual Degree
At Iona, you have the opportunity to pursue a dual bachelor's and master's degree that streamlines the career path to become a speech-language pathologist or audiologist. Students enrolled in our dual BA/MA program benefit from many advantages, including early acceptance to the graduate program, exemption from taking the GRE and saving on graduate school application costs!
Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic
At the Iona University Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, you’ll have the opportunity to work as a clinician serving community members in a full-service speech-language and hearing teaching clinic. Gaining this hands-on speech-language therapy training during your undergraduate degree is a valuable educational experience to understand patient-centered care.

Early Acceptance Program
If you're an incoming freshman intent on pursuing a career as a speech-language pathologist, this program is designed for you. You'll earn both your bachelor's and master's degrees through Iona's own Communication Sciences & Disorders program.
Program Details:
- Secure a spot in Iona's MA in Communication Sciences & Disorders program while you start earning your BA in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
- Skip the GRE -- the graduate school entrance exam.
- Applicants should have a combined SAT score of 1100 or greater and an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5
- Students accepted into the program are expected to maintain a 3.5 GPA during their undergraduate studies.
- Students in good standing are automatically considered for Iona's highest graduate scholarship.

Admissions Requirements
- There is a 3.0 minimum grade point average for the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology undergraduate major. Students can declare their major with their academic advisor.
- Students who have less than a 3.0 overall GPA by the beginning of sophomore year can appeal directly to the department chair by contacting the chair for a meeting.
- Students must also maintain a minimum of a 3.0 for continued enrollment in the major.
