The Staten Island native’s journey from his time on campus to the boardroom of one of the nation’s top accounting firms is a testament to his dedication and hard work.

As CEO and managing partner of SAX LLP since 2015, Damiano has been pivotal in driving the firm’s strategic growth. Under his leadership, SAX’s revenues have soared from $25 million in 2015 to a projected $110 million in 2024.

His efforts have also expanded SAX’s services, establishing SAX Wealth Advisors, SAX Technology Advisors, SAX Capital Advisors, SAX Fractional Finance, and SAX India, the firm’s first international office. His leadership has earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of Forbes Magazine’s Top 200 CPAs in the Country for 2024.

“Iona created the foundation of education and real-life experience to help me professionally and personally succeed in life,” he said.

Damiano’s professional journey is marked by his commitment to excellence and growth. Prior to his current role, he served as partner-in-charge of SAX’s Construction Practice and Marketing and Business Development. His leadership in these areas set the stage for his current position as CEO, where he now leads the firm’s Executive and Compensation Committees.

Beyond his professional achievements, Damiano remains motivated by the foundation his Iona education provided.

“I look at my Iona degree as the foundation that allowed me to continue to evolve in my career and ultimately become CEO,” he said.

Damiano’s dedication and success serve as an inspiration to future Iona graduates, demonstrating that with hard work and determination, remarkable achievements are possible.

His advice to current students and recent graduates? “Work hard, never take no for an answer, and surround yourself with successful people.”
