Professor Alstete teaches courses in strategic management, management and organizational behavior, managerial decision-making, and small business management. His research interests include business strategy, management development, knowledge management, and higher education. His articles have been published in many journals such as the Journal of Management Development, Journal of Education for Business, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, and others.

Dr. Jeffrey Alstete is a professor of Management and is the author of books and journal articles on business management, small business/entrepreneurship, knowledge management, and higher education. He earned his doctorate from Seton Hall University and holds an MBA and MS from Iona University, as well as a BS in Business Administration from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Previously, Prof. Alstete was associate dean in the School of Business at Iona University, where he grew graduate business enrollment, setup corporate on-site MBA programs, directed successful initial accreditation for AACSB International, and scheduled the first online distance education courses. Prior to that he was director of continuing education at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he created a variety of non-credit training programs on and off-campus for area corporations and health service providers. Other positions he has held include assistant dean for graduate programs at the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, Director of Recruitment and Academic Services at Iona University - Rockland Campus, commercial mortgage analyst at Valley National Bank, and senior tax analyst at Property Evaluation Services, a commercial real estate consulting firm. Dr. Alstete is Co-Editor of Quality Assurance Education and is on the Editorial Advisory Board for Benchmarking: An International Journal by Emerald Publishing.
