Spiritual Life & Service
Discover opportunities to serve others and grow your faith.
Spiritual life at Iona is as much about serving others as it is attending services. We aim to keep service, justice and spirituality conscious in the minds and hearts of our community.
Inspired by the Catholic tradition and the teachings of Blessed Edmund Rice, we seek to build a caring, service-oriented community that welcomes people of all faith traditions and backgrounds.
Our Office of Mission & Ministry sponsors a wide variety of mission-oriented activities: volunteer service, mission trips, music ministry and more. We also offer Catholic mass daily and invite you to join us in worship.
Iona in Mission
Engage in service with the poor and marginalized while being immersed in different cultures – domestic and abroad! Share in the experience to foster action and deepen relationships of solidarity.
Applying to go on the Iona in Mission India trip was hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made. My favorite part of the immersion was volunteering at the Mother Teresa House because I was able to spend time with extraordinary children.

Help Us Help Others
Volunteering is embedded in our campus culture and there are so many ways Iona students serve our community. You might help maintain a community garden, tutor local K-12 students or play games with nursing home residents. Current service projects feature outdoor and online opportunities, including:
- Community Gardens and Clean-ups
- Midnight Run
- Fuller Center for Housing
- Best Buddies
- Cerebral Palsy of Westchester
- Iona University Online Tutoring
- New Rochelle Cares
- Nursing Home Visits
I loved that I would have the opportunity to grow in my faith, serving not only the Iona community but also the New Rochelle community and abroad.
