What is a day in the life like at your company?
As the academic leader of the school, responsibilities and duties are varied - there are truly no two days alike. I visit and observe classes, hold one-on-one meetings with colleagues to facilitate communication and collaboration, teach algebra II (still!), go to games, plays, mock trials, Masses, attend college signing ceremonies, plan advisory sessions, and many more endeavors.
What do you love most about what you’re currently doing?
I love working in a Catholic high school!
How did Iona prepare you to get where you are today?
My experience at Iona was outstanding, with highly effective and engaging instructors. After teaching high school math for a year and a half at LaSalle Academy, I was able to return to the classroom as a student again and learn a mix of higher-level mathematics and pedagogical techniques.
What is the lasting impact Iona has made in your personal and professional life?
The experience at Iona pushed me to become open to growth and eager to step up as a lifelong learner.
What advice do you have for a current Iona student who wants to follow a similar path?
Move forward in education in a spirit of gratitude, stay open to growth, and be eager to engage as fully as possible in the life of your future school(s).
What seven words would your family and friends use to describe you?
Generous, loving, funny, determined, consistent, and faith-filled.
