Dr. Christina Orozco Nevers teaches health and wellness courses, including health sciences courses in anatomy and physiology and internship.
Dr. Nevers enjoys teaching and mentoring students and is most fulfilled in building meaningful relationships with her students and watching them succeed.
Dr. Nevers began her career as a healthcare professional, practicing as a certified athletic trainer (AT) and teaching as an adjunct college faculty member. She has worked with various college/university athletic teams, providing sports medicine healthcare services for college/university athletes. She has also served as a sports medicine internship coordinator while practicing as an AT. After her clinical career, Dr. Nevers worked in higher education as a clinical director and professor for undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs.
Dr. Nevers is a board-certified athletic trainer with an AT license in New York. Her academic instructional experience includes teaching online, hybrid, in-person lectures, clinical labs, and practicums. She has also served as a clinical preceptor - teaching and mentoring athletic training students in the practice of sports medicine - and as an academic and research advisor for undergraduate and graduate athletic training students. Dr. Nevers research interests center on interprofessional education (IPE) in allied health professions, athletic training education, teaching strategies used in higher education, and various health science and sports medicine topics.
