NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Iona College has one of the nation's most outstanding business schools, according to The Princeton Review®, the education services company that recently profiled Iona in its "Best Business Schools for 2020" list. The news comes as Iona College prepares to open its new state-of-the-art LaPenta School of Business in early 2020, which will more than double the school’s existing space on campus.

“Iona’s designation as a ‘Best Business School’ underscores the quality and value of an Iona business degree,” said Darrell P. Wheeler, Ph.D., MPH, ACSW, Iona College provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs. “Through a combination of high-quality academic programs, experiential learning that leverages our proximity to New York City, and an engaged alumni network, students get tremendous return on their investment at Iona College.”

The list was compiled based on data collected from surveys of administrators at business schools during the 2018–19 academic year. The administrator survey, which included more than 200 questions, covered topics from academic offerings and admission requirements to data about currently enrolled students as well as graduates' employment.

In addition, more than 20,700 students at 248 business schools were surveyed. The 80-question student survey asked about their schools’ academics, student body, and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans. The student surveys were conducted between 2016-2019.

"We recommend Iona College as an excellent choice for a student aspiring to earn an MBA," said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief.

Challenging and Exciting

Surveyed students attending Iona’s School of Business noted that their “classes are challenging in a way that makes learning exciting.” The professors are “very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and always willing to help understand the material.” Additionally, students noted that faculty members are always available for additional hours, and “all have ‘real-world’ experience, and they share their experiences with the [students].”
