Iona University Recognized in U.S. News & World Report's 2025 Best Colleges List
NEW ROCHELLE & BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Iona University continues to strengthen its reputation for academic excellence, value and social mobility, having earned a spot in U.S. News & World Report's 2025 “Best Colleges” list.
Announced earlier this week, U.S. News & World Report recognized Iona as one of the nation's best institutions for both its undergraduate business and nursing programs, and highlighted Iona as a “Best Value School” and “Top Performer on Social Mobility.”
“While we do not chase rankings, it is rewarding when they come our way,” said Iona President Seamus Carey, Ph.D. “It affirms the hard work being done across campus and reflects the success our students are experiencing both inside the classrooms and beyond. Thank you to U.S. News & World Report for the recognition.”
Founded in 1940 and rooted in the mission of service inspired by Blessed Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, Iona is a Catholic institution in Westchester County, N.Y.
Located just 20 miles from Midtown Manhattan, its three schools—the School of Arts & Science, the LaPenta School of Business, and the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences—offer a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate degrees. With small class sizes, engaged faculty, and access to top-tier internship opportunities, Iona equips its students for success both inside and outside the classroom.
For 2025, Iona has also once again been named to prestigious national lists by The Princeton Review, The Wall Street Journal and Forbes as one of the nation’s best colleges.
Additionally, Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW) ranks an Iona degree in the top 5 percent nationally for long-term return on investment, reflecting the earning power of an Iona education.
