Council for Greek Governance

The Council for Greek Governance (CGG) is the organization that provides outlook, leadership, and guidance for the 10 Greek-Lettered Organizations that make up The Fraternity and Sorority Life Community at Iona University.

CGG strives to promote excellence and the importance of all organizations individually and as a whole community, as well as with integration with various organizations throughout Iona’s Student Life. CGG is also responsible for important affairs that impact Fraternity and Sorority Life including Fall and Spring Recruitment, New Member Education, and Philanthropic Influence.

CGG’s Executive Board is composed of elected students within Fraternity and Sorority Life, who aim to achieve greater excellence for the community as a whole.

Spring 2025 Recruitment Information

In order to be eligible to participate in CGG Recruitment Weekend you must hold a minimum 2.5 GPA, be in good conduct standing with the University, and have completed 12 credits at the institution. If you are a transfer student, please reach out to astellato@iona.edu

The deadline to register for recruitment is Wednesday, January 29.

Registration closes.

Wednesday, February 5, 12:30 p.m.
Mandatory meeting in Romita Auditorium for all those eligible to participate in Spring Recruitment.

Wednesday, February 5, 9:15 p.m.
Sorority Recruitment will begin  in Murphy Auditorium and continue through Thursday, Friday & Saturday, with Bid Day being Sunday, February 9 at 5 p.m.!
