Interdisciplinary Advanced Certificate in Working with Young Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and their Families (IACD) Application Process
Candidates for the IACD must plan to be simultaneously enrolled in either Iona University's graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders or in one of the following Education graduate programs:
- MS in Education (for certified teachers Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-Grade 2) preferred IACD program
- MS in Education (for certified teachers) Childhood Special Education (Grades 1-6) [must also be certified in Early Childhood Education]
- MS in Education (for certified teachers) Literacy/Childhood Special Education (Grades 1-6) [must also be certified in Early Childhood Education]
- MS in Teaching (for career changers) Childhood/Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 6) [must also earn certification in Special Education]
- MS in Teaching (for career changers) Childhood/Special Education (Grades 1-6) [must also earn certification in Early Childhood Education]

Please note - while applications may be considered on a rolling basis, the priority deadline to apply to enroll in the IACD for the 2025-2026 academic year will be January 30, 2025.
Promising candidates will be asked to attend an interview via Zoom before the final cohort is selected.
