Iona University Podcast Studio

The Iona University Podcasting Studio (IUPS) provides turn-key podcast production services to student clubs, faculty, and staff. IUPS will also provide services for Westchester County community groups when there is availability in the schedule of supporting personnel and the studio.

IUPS will provide the podcast studio and podcast production services, including planning production, liaising with the group doing the podcast, recording the podcast, providing post-production services, and working with Iona Marketing and Communications (MarCom) and the Media & Strategic Communication Department (MSC) to distribute the podcast on the appropriate channels. Podcast content is the responsibility of the users and will not be provided by IUPS or its personnel. Groups interested in launching a podcast should be prepared to provide the theme, host, and all content for the podcasts. Iona University reserves the right to review and approve all podcast content prior to its distribution on social media and other outlets.

An MSC faculty member will coordinate IUPS’s activities. This includes studio scheduling and assigning student interns to assist groups using the IUPS. Whenever possible, an intern will take ownership of the production of a podcast and serve as that podcast's primary producer, overseeing all of the episodes. However, if groups fail to keep to a regular production schedule, interns could be reassigned.

Podcasts must take place during the studio's hours of operation, which are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., subject to availability of production personnel and the studios. Interested parties must complete the Podcast Studio Reservation Form. Once submitted, the MSC department will contact you to discuss availability and confirm the reservation.

Any group using the podcasting facilities is responsible for any equipment damaged during productions beyond normal day-to-day use.
