Hamilton Star to Headline Student Leadership Conference at Iona University
Broadway’s Tamar Greene will deliver keynote address and perform as part of the annual conference on March 28, 2025
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Iona University is proud to welcome Tamar Greene, the current George Washington in the Broadway production of Hamilton, as the keynote speaker for the Student Leadership Conference on March 28, 2025.
Greene, a celebrated performer with an international career spanning the United States, Italy, Germany, England and the Caribbean, brings a wealth of experience and insight to this year’s conference.
As a proud first-generation American, born of Jamaican and British parents, Tamar is a versatile artist whose musical passions mirror his eclectic background. As a writer, arranger, classical pianist and an opera singer, he combines much of his inspiration from Classical music, Reggae, Hip-Hop, R&B, Blues, and Jazz.
His address will provide students with the opportunity to engage in leadership development, gain valuable global perspectives and be inspired by his artistic and personal journey. The talk will be moderated by Dr. Alison Munsch from the Office of the Provost.
In addition to sharing his experiences, Greene will also treat the audience to a special musical performance.
Beyond his career on stage, Greene is a passionate educator, writer and advocate, frequently leading masterclasses and lectures across the country.

The annual Student Leadership Conference is a signature event at Iona University, offering students a global perspective on leadership while helping them develop essential skills for both academic and professional growth.
