Iona College Takes Home the Gold for Renovated Website
Iona wins w3 Award, Education Digital Marketing Award and Davey Award for new website design
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Iona College recently won three new awards for its completely redesigned website, which launched in December 2020 to mirror the dynamic impact of an Iona education while also reflecting the College’s legacy of excellence.
The latest recognitions include:
- w3 Award Gold Winner, celebrating the best in digital distinction, upholding each entry to a standard determined by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The w3 is also the first major web competition to be accessible to large agencies, small firms and everyone in between. A selective and fair process, less than 10 percent of all entries are selected as Gold Winners.
- Education Digital Marketing Award Gold Winner, presented to programs that have been reviewed by a national panel of industry specialists selected to judge creativity, marketing execution, message impact, technology application and innovative content.
- Davey Awards Silver Winner, the first major awards competition specifically for smaller agencies, honoring the achievements of creatives who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than large budgets. The awards are sanctioned and judged by top-tier professionals of the AIVA.
Iona was also previously recognized with a Digital Award of Excellence at the 27th Annual Communicator Awards, the leading international awards program honoring excellence, effectiveness and innovation across all areas of communication.
The new website launched as part of a comprehensive reimagining of the College’s logo and brand. Iona worked closely with two agency partners, mStoner for the website and Lawrence & Schiller for the new rebranding.
“We are honored to be recognized for all of the hard work that went into our new website and brand. Thank you to mStoner for their enthusiasm and support,” said Mary Clare Reilley, vice president for Iona College Marketing & Communications. “We needed to upgrade our look and feel while staying true to Iona’s history and traditions, and these awards show we were able to do that successfully.”
The Iona team worked closely with mStoner to create an entirely new platform and engaging new content, focusing specifically on providing the best possible user experience. Over 2,000 pages were refreshed and transferred to the new platform with lively, interactive, informative and accessible content.
