MindUP Training for Life

MindUP for Life is both an evidence-based curriculum and set of strategies/interventions designed to promote resilience and well-being across the lifespan.  Iona University IPE students complete the foundation training in MindUP which earns them a Certificate of Completion and access both to the curriculum and a host of other training and facilitation resources.  Thus, Iona IPE students move into their professional practicum and/or clinical placement, and eventually to employment settings with MindUP as an additional resource in their professional toolkit.

The purpose of including MindUP training in the Iona IPE curriculum is threefold:

  1. The principles and strategies of MindUP are applicable to the active practice of provider well-being and self-care; a fundamental goal of interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

  2. IPE student engagement in the foundational MindUP training provides them with a shared approach and common parlance that positions them to engage in interprofessional facilitation of the curriculum and strategies within their clinical/professional practicum settings and/or through select IPE Field Fellowships.

  3. The foundation MindUP training provides IPE students with the fundamental knowledge and techniques of MindUP that can be adapted for use in their discipline-specific professional practicums or clinical settings.
