Applying to CAP

Application Requirements

In order to be considered for the program, candidates must:

  1. Be admitted to Iona
  2. Complete the CAP application (see below)
  3. Submit all supporting documentation (see below)
  4. Attend at least one CAP Information Session (see website for dates/times)

Required Documents and Admission Criteria

A recent psycho-educational evaluation that provides a clear statement and evidence of a learning disability or AD/HD.
Evaluations should include the following information: diagnosis, IQ scores, subtest scores, current levels of achievement (math, reading, and written expression), narrative/history, and specific recommendations for accommodations.

In cases where recent psychological evaluation is not available, we will review any relevant documents that may assist in establishing the student's disability. However, to ensure that the information provided is current and applicable submitted documents must be dated within the last five years. This will enable us to accurately assess the student's current needs and provide the necessary support.

After reviewing the application materials, the Admissions Committee will notify the candidate of their decision.
The admissions team may also reach out to schedule an interview with the student to better understand their needs and ensure a smooth transition.
