CLEP Equivalents
The College Level Exam Program (CLEP) offers a variety of exams you may take to earn college credit and advance your standing!
CLEP makes recommendations for credit based upon the score(s) you earn on the exams. Our academic departments then determine the usefulness of the exam content as it relates to courses offered here at Iona.
If you are currently enrolled at Iona, you must first obtain permission to take a CLEP exam, as exams may duplicate existing work and not all students are eligible for credit by exam. Please speak with one of our advisers before investing in this exam option, and to see what other exam programs there may be that could further your goal for advanced standing by exam.
Exam & Course Equivalents
The chart below notes the CLEP exam by name, the Iona course equivalent, and how that course will be used in your academic plans at Iona.
Your exam score from CLEP will note the recommended credit award, which you may then discuss with one of the advisers in the Center for Advising and Academic Services.
