COURSE OVERVIEW
RST 206: Spirituality
This course serves as an introduction to spirituality, as it manifests in a range of religious traditions. We will explore examples of spiritual texts, concepts, practices, communities, and experiences, while also reflecting on and attempting to deepen our own spirituality. The course invites students to reflect on the spirituality of pilgrimage and travel. It also includes an exploration of historical and contemporary expressions of Celtic spirituality. Throughout the semester, we will reflect on the links between spirituality, social justice, and ecological living. More concretely, we will reflect on efforts to actively embody spirituality, sustainability, and social justice at both the Iona Community in Scotland and at Iona University.
