Test Optional Admissions
At Iona, you are more than just a number, and we are committed to every individual student’s success. Current research shows that standardized test scores are not always valid predictors when it comes to classroom success in college.
Your application is considered complete and can be reviewed based on your high school (GPA) scores and recommendation letters. Our Admissions team will review your application holistically, considering high school transcript, recommendation letters from teachers and counselors, and your overall record of achievement!
High school students applying for standard admission to Iona University for Fall 2020 or later are not required to submit SAT or ACT test scores within their applications for admission to the University.
Scholarship Consideration
Every applicant to Iona University is automatically considered for our Merit Awards when they submit a complete application. An application is considered complete regardless of whether standardized test scores have been submitted!
If I do choose to submit SAT/ACT scores, will my application be stronger?
Not necessarily. We recommend submitting standardized test scores only if you believe they are indicative of your academic achievements and potential and will support your candidacy for admission.
Remember - we evaluate your application holistically and will be considering a number of factors to determine whether Iona University is the best fit for your success in higher education.
