Voter Registration Information
Iona University encourages all students to exercise their right to vote.
The most distinguishing feature of a democratic society is the right of the citizenry to elect its representatives to government. This right is absolute, but comes with responsibilities and requires action on your part.
Registration is a simple process that involves the completing a simple voter registration application. Resources to assist you in registering to vote are provided below:

Registration Application
Email your mailing address to vote@boe.nyc.ny.us (please put in the subject line the borough in which you reside) or call toll-free 1-866-VOTE-NYC. If you are out of New York City, call (212)-VOTE-NYC (868-3692) and ask to have an application sent to you. You may also pick one up at your local post office, library or motor vehicle office. Application Deadlines
- For the April 2, 2024 Presidential Primary Election:
- Last day to apply online or by mail is March 23, 2024
- Last day to apply in person at your county board of elections is April 1, 2024
- For the June 25, 2024 State and Federal Primary Election:
- Last day to apply online or by mail is June 15, 2024
- Last day to apply in person at your county board of elections is June 24, 2024
- For the November General Election:
- Last day to apply online or by mail is October 26, 2024
- Last day to apply in person at your county board of elections is November 4, 2024
Casting Your ballot for the November 5, 2024 General Election:
- Put it in the mail ensuring it receives a postmark no later than November 5, 2024. (See the list of County Boards of Elections Offices)
- Drop off your ballot to your county Board of Elections Office no later than November 5, 2024 by 9 p.m.
- Drop off your ballot to an early voting poll site in your county between October 26 and November 3, 2024.
- Drop off your ballot to an election day poll site on November 5, 2024 no later than 9 p.m.
Voting in Connecticut
For the first time, all Connecticut voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the general election held on November 3, 2020 due to COVID-19. Just check the COVID-19 box on the application.

Voting in New Jersey
Register to vote in New Jersey.
In person voting is only available on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
You may apply for a vote by mail ballot by completing an vote by mail ballot application and mailing the application to your county clerk. The application must be received by the county clerk 7 (seven) days before the election.
